NECCO – New England Candy Company Auction

NECCO – New England Candy Company Auction

NECCO

Background: After many months of negotiation, the 100+ year-old candy manufacturer sold its entire confectionery manufacturing facility and select brands, including Sweethearts and Necco Wafers to Spangler Candy Company. Spangler then engaged Rabin to market and sell the contents and select brands of the historic company in a very short time period.

Result: Immediately upon being engaged, the Rabin team launched a full marketing outreach campaign to target turnkey buyers. Rabin prepared, marketed, and sold the equipment in an expedited timeline, having to work around the decommissioning process and the sale of the building to a third party. We also marketed and sold the brands, IP, and associated equipment lines to various parties in private treaty sales prior to the auction. The day before the sale, the EPA closed the facility due to a massive leakage on the site, and the Rabin team scrambled, but successfully moved the sale to the nearby hotel We ran the auction sale off the site, and still managed to bring in over $6 million in revenue to the client and removed all the equipment from the site in the required deadline.
